Brandon’s Amanda Thornborough has earned the nod as the female athlete of the week at St. Francis Xavier University.
The fifth-year winger on the X-Women rugby team was named player of the game and scored three tries to lead No.1-ranked St. FX to a 90-0 thrashing of previously unbeaten Acadia last Thursday.
Thornborough is fourth in Atlantic conference scoring with 45 points. St. FX is 6-0 in the Atlantic conference and 15-0 overall after going 3-0 on a Thanksgiving weekend exhibition series in which Thornborough scored two more tries.
