Brandon’s Amanda Thornborough was picked for in the starting lineup for Canada’s senior women’s 15s rugby team when it faced host New Zealand early today.
The 23-year-old graduate of the Vincent Massey Vikings high school program and Brandon Barbarians senior women’s squad, started at centre back for the Canadian team, which is 1-1 on its three-match exhibition tour. Canada beat Australia 22-0 in its opening match and fell 16-8 to New Zealand in its second match before today’s rematch.
