Tibbett terrific as Farmers win shootout with 'Leafs

Cam Tibbett went 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs as the Neepawa Farmers beat the Brandon Cloverleafs 10-8 in Friday’s Manitoba Senior Baseball League contest in Neepawa.

The Farmers exploded for eight runs in the fourth inning and never looked back as they improved to 9-4 on the season.

Isaac Rodriguez earned the win after giving up six runs on seven hits and striking out eight in 6 1/3 innings of work for the league leaders.

Rodriguez was also effective with his bat, going 1-for-3 with one run and a pair of RBIs.

Ian Hockin also came around to score twice for Neepawa.

Max Poulin led the Cloverleafs (5-3) offence, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Kevin McNeill drove in three more base runners while Bryan Swaenepoel brought two more runners home.

Justin Funk was tagged with the loss after giving up nine runs on six hits in five innings. He struck out six batters.

In Friday’s other game, it was Reston Rockets 8, Brandon Houstons Marlins 5.

The Rockets improved to 7-4 on the season, while the Marlins fell to 2-6.

Details from the game were not reported to the Sun as of press time.
