Souris native Emily Tuttosi helped Canada’s under-20 women’s rugby team trounce the United States to open a two-game exhibition series on Wednesday night in London, Ont.
The 18-year-old Tuttosi, a product of the Souris Sabres and Brandon Barbarians programs, started at the hook position as the Canadians clobbered the Americans 51-5 to open the Can-Am series.
Tuttosi was a Canada West all-star in her rookie season with the Calgary Dinos this past season and also started for the Prairies squad at the National Women’s League rugby tournament in Ottawa earlier this month to catch the eye of the Canadian team coaches.
The Canadian and American U-20 teams clash again in another test match on Saturday on Sarnia, Ont.
