Uhl wins on junior golf tour

Erickson’s Bobbi Uhl claimed her first-ever Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour championship on Friday in Teulon.

The 14-year-old shot back-to-back 84s to win the girls’ division title by a stroke over Winnipeg’s Marissa Naylor, who shot an 83 in the first-round of the two-day event before following it up with an 86.

In the junior boys’ competition, Brandon’s Austin Dobrescu posted a two-round total of 160 to place 12th, while Carberry’s Joel Baron finished 24th after posting a 172.

Virden’s Will Draper tied for 17th place in the bantam boys’ group with a 182, while Neepawa’s Chase Dusessoy was one stroke back at 183.
