Tyson Verhelst stopped 42 shots Thursday night as the Southwest Cougars defeated the NorMan Northstars 2-0 in a Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League game in Virden.
Carter Suski and Sheldon Kowalchuk scored the goals for Southwest (18-15-2), while Cameron Whyte picked up a pair of assists. Aaron Vallance made 32 saves for NorMan (8-21-3).
