A pair of Vincent Massey Vikings players celebrate their first goal against Crocus Plainsmen goaltender Cody Murray during provincial playoff AAA/AAAA high school hockey action on Monday afternoon at the Optimist Arena.

Carson Ransom scored the game-winner and assisted on an another marker to lead the Vincent Massey Vikings to a 3-1 victory over the Crocus Plainsmen in high school hockey provincial playoff action on Monday afternoon at the Optimist Arena.

With the victory, the Vikings swept the best-of-three first-round series. Vincent Massey now awaits the winner of the Dauphin Clippers-Virden Golden Bears series for a spot in the provincial AAA/AAAA high school hockey championship.

Kirk Dechka and Clark Whelpton also scored goals for the Vikings, who led 3-0 after the first period, with Norman Brightnose scoring the Plainsmen’s lone goal in the second period.

Cooper Blaine finished with 20 saves for Vincent Massey, while Cody Murray stopped 22 shots for Crocus Plains.
