The Vincent Massey Vikings varsity boys’ volleyball team finished in 12th place at the University of Winnipeg high school tournament on Saturday.
The Vikings fell 15-8, 15-11 to the Garden Valley Zodiacs in the 11th place match.
Vincent Massey started the day by losing 25-17, 25-15 to the Dakota Lancers and beating Winnipeg’s Vincent Massey Trojans 25-22, 25-18 to finish third in their round-robin pool. The Vikings then split their next matches, losing 25-23, 29-26 to the Garden City Gophers and beating the Glenlawn Lions 25-16, 26-24. Daven Pascal had 18 kills and four stuff blocks on the day for Massey, while Jared Friesen added 11 kills and four blocks.
