The Vincent Massey Vikings won the battle of unbeaten teams in Prairie West High School Baseball League action on Wednesday night.
Tanner Jago went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as the Vikings (4-0) beat the host Hamiota Huskies 12-4. Clark Whelpton struck out five in 3 1/3 innings of work to pick up the win.
Taylor Madsen, who finished 2-for-2 with one RBI at the plate, took the loss on the mound for Hamiota (3-1).
In Wednesday’s other games, it was: Crocus Plainsmen 10, Neepawa Tigers 8; Dauphin Clippers 4, Major Pratt (Russell) Trojans 0; Virden Golden Bears 10, Antler River Devils 0; and Killarney Raiders 16, Reston Tigers 3.
Plainsmen 10 Tigers 8
At Andrews Field, James Shearer went 3-for-4 at the plate with two triples and three RBIs for the Plainsmen. Kyle Johnston gave up three runs on four hits in three innings of work to earn the win. Riley Kolesar received the loss after giving up six runs over five innings.
Clippers 4 Trojans 0
At Russell, Darren Gudmundson allowed three hits and struck out seven to earn the complete game shutout win for Dauphin. Jordan Cullum, who gave up four runs in two innings, took the loss for Major Pratt. Stefan Gudmundson went 1-for-3 at the plate for Dauphin with a single and two RBIs.
Golden Bears 10 Devils 0
At Deloraine, Austin Brereton held Antler River to one hit in his seven innings of work to pick up the win. He struck out 12 batters and went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs. Blake Isaby took the loss for the Devils.
Raiders 16 Tigers 3
At Killarney, Cody Milliken struck out eight batters in five innings to pick up the win for the host Raiders. He also went 4-for-5 with four RBIs. Reed Loucks, who also pitched for five innings, took the loss for Reston.
