Kristine Ward scored eight points to lead the Neelin Spartans to a 37-36 victory over the Crocus Plainsmen in a Brandon High School Basketball League varsity girls’ game Tuesday at Crocus.
Jordan Hardy added six points for the Spartans, while Courtney Matienzo contributed five.
Desirae Peiffer and Abbi Robinson had 10 points apiece for the Plainsmen, with Peiffer adding seven rebounds and seven steals, while Robinson had six boards and five steals. Stephanie Hunter had eight points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks for Crocus.
In the varsity boys’ game last night, Dylan Minshull scored 15 points and Quinton Hunter added 14 to spark visiting Neelin to an 82-52 triumph over Crocus Plains.
Taylor Maloney replied with 13 points, while Drew Jones and Thomas Janzen added eight apiece for the Plainsmen.
