Webber keys Plainsmen victory

Bryce Webber scored a pair of goals for the Crocus Plainsmen on Friday as they beat the host Virden Golden Bears 4-3 for their second straight Westman High School Hockey League victory in two days.

In Friday’s other games, it was: Dauphin Clippers 3, Neepawa Tigers 2; Deloraine/Hartney Colts 8, Boissevain Broncos 2; Glenboro/Carberry/Baldur Wildcats 5, Killarney/Wawanesa Raiders 2; Melita/Waskada Devils 4, Major Pratt Trojans 2; Hamiota Huskies 7, Rivers/Elton Rage 3; and Souris/Reston Sabres 3, Vincent Massey Vikings 2 (OT).

At Virden, Dawson Waddell and Skylar Peters also netted markers for the Plainsmen (7-3-1). Cody Colon paced the Bears (5-4-0) with a goal and an assist, while Matt Hannem and Riley Hill also scored.

Clippers 3 Tigers 2

At Neepawa, Jared Lagoski scored with 41.6 seconds left in regulation time as the league-leading Clippers (8-1-1) scored three unanswered goals to top the host Tigers (7-3-0). Josh Yaschyshyn and Jessy Morran also scored for the Clippers. Hayden Kolesar and Garett Rempel replied for the Tigers.

Colts 8 Broncos 2

At Deloraine, Quin Hobbs recorded a hat trick and Jared Maxwell added two goals and two assists for the host Colts (8-1-0), while Ty Moffat, Mitch Dillabough and Regan Bertholet also found the back of the net. Skylar Canada scored once for the Broncos (4-5-0) and set up Matt McCorrister’s other marker.

Wildcats 5 Raiders 2

At Killarney, Connor Johnson scored three times, with Wes Ball and Reid Gillis adding singles for the victorious Wildcats (2-6-1). Garrett Bridges and Cody Shackel replied for the Raiders (2-7-0).

Devils 4 Trojans 2

At Russell, Wes Meggison scored a pair of goals for the Devils (6-3-0), with Will Brown adding a goal and an assist and Tyson Fletcher supplying the other marker. Dylan Tanner and Chad Kilimnik scored for the Trojans (5-1-0).

Huskies 7 Rage 3

At Forrest, Devin Allen scored three goals and set up two more for the Huskies (2-6-1), while Logan Clark netted a pair of markers. Jonathan Shurvell and Blake Cramer rounded out the scoring for Hamiota. Brock Paddock had two goals and an assist for the host Rage (6-5-0), while Jason Kozak had a goal and two assists.

Sabres 3 Vikings 2 (OT)

Details from the game in Souris were not available from source. The Sabres improved to 1-7-1 while the Vikings dropped to 6-2-3.
