Westman duo all-Canadians

Brandonite Amanda Thornborough and Brynna Walker of Souris were both named to the CIS all-Canadian team in women’s rugby on Wednesday.

Thornborough is a national sevens team member and a fourth-year winger with the St. Francis Xavier X-Women, who will host the national championship this weekend in Antigonish, N.S. Walker is a third-year centre with the Calgary Dinos, who made it to the Canada West conference final before being ousted by the Alberta Pandas.

The top-ranked X-Women open nationals today against the No.4 Queen’s Gaels. The third team in their pool is the No.8 Concordia Stingers.
