Westman golfers eliminated from provincial match play championship

None of the three Westman competitors lasted long in the Golf Manitoba match play championship over the weekend.

Glenboro’s Josh Wytinck, who was the second seed, fell 3 and 2 to Winnipeg’s Daniel Munroe in the first round on Saturday at Winnipeg’s Bel Acres Golf and Country Club, while third seed Trevor Fox of Dauphin lost 2 and 1 in the opening round to Winnipeg’s Riley Unger. Brandon’s Mark Tokle also exited after the first day. The 29th seed fell 5 and 4 to Oak Bluff’s Jordy Lutz.

The event wraps up with the quarter-finals, semifinals and final on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
