The Westman Magic under-18 girls softball team fell in the semifinals of a weekend tournament in Minot, N.D.
The Magic dropped an 11-3 decision to Winnipeg-based Smitty’s, ending their tournament. Cejay Hilhorst went 2-for-3 in the game while Brittany Scott hit a double for the Magic.
Westman reached the semifinal by going 2-1 in their group with a 13-7 win over the Southern Bandits and a 7-2 victory over the Minot Magic. Westman’s Jodie Baker went 3-for-4 against the Bandits while Peyton Cobbe and Savanah Tweet combined for the win. Hilhorst went 3-for-4 against Minot and Darrien Cantelo earned the win on the mound.
The Magic were limited to only two hits in their 7-0 tournament-opening loss to Fargo/Moorhead.
