The WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings will honour the bronze-medal winning Brandon University Bobcats on Wednesday.
The Bobcats men’s volleyball team, which won its third medal in five years at the CIS championship earlier this month in Quebec City, will be recognized by the Wheat Kings and Atom-Jet Group in the first intermission during the Wheat Kings’ game versus the Prince Albert Raiders at Westman Place at 7 p.m.
Wednesday’s contest will feature the annual Pucks ’n Pets ball toss for a toonie to raise funds for the Brandon Humane Society. The game is also the final Rain Check Night of the season, allowing fans to exchange any unused ticket (from Dec. 14 to March 9) for admission tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, Saturday night’s regular-season finale versus the Moose Jaw Warriors at Westman Place will feature the Wheat Kings’ annual awards night, with year-end honours announced throughout the game. The Wheat Kings are currently last in the Eastern Conference with a 22-39-4-4 record and will miss the playoffs for the first time in 13 years.
