Wildcats get past Raiders in shootout

Connor Johnson scored one goal and set up another in the third period for the Glenboro/Carberry/Baldur Wildcats, and then scored the winning goal in the shootout as they beat the visiting Killarney/Wawanesa Raiders 5-4 in the Westman High School Hockey League on Saturday in Glenboro.

Nathan Grenier added a goal and two helpers for the Wildcats (3-6-1), while Raegan Johnson and Thomas Vermeersch supplied the other markers. Lane Ganske and Taylor Opperman both had a goal and an assist for the Raiders (2-8-0), with Reid Opperman and Brayden Riley also finding the back of the net.

Sunday’s game between the Wildcats and the Virden Golden Bears was postponed due to weather conditions. A makeup date has not been set.
