After getting Sunday off, the Westman Wildcats will head into the girls semifinals of the Mac’s AAA Midget Hockey Tournament today in Calgary.
The Hartney-based Wildcats finished first in their round-robin pool with a 3-0-1 record after a 3-1 win over the Grande Prairie (Alta.) Storm on Saturday.
Against the Storm, Jaycee Magwood and Jessica Vallotton scored two quick goals in the second to put the Wildcats up for good. Karissa Kirkup put the game away with a short-handed goal late in the contest.
The Wildcats, members of the Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League, won their first two games of the tournament before tying the Calgary Flyers 4-4 late Friday night.
