Winnipeg blasts Dauphin in series opener

The Kings were 8-0 in the playoffs heading into the contest, sweeping both of their previous series in four straight.

Channing Bresciani added a goal and an assist for Winnipeg, which opened the scoring with a pair of markers 26 seconds part in the final two minutes of the first period. Garret Browning, Taeron Lewis and Warren Callis rounded out the scoring for the Blues, while Byron Spriggs made 16 saves.

Brandonite Mitch Van Teeling was the only player to find the back of the net for the Kings, who got 18 saves from Michael Stiliadis.

The series now shifts to Dauphin, where the Kings will host Game 2 on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
