Wolf Pack wraps up on winning note

Souris’s Sheldon Kowalchuk scored a try in the under-19 Prairie Wolf Pack’s final game at the Canadian Rugby Championship on Saturday as they beat the Voyageurs 14-7 in Newfoundland.

Brandon Waeyen supplied the other try, while Oliver Mayo booted both converts for the team made up of players from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

The Wolf Pack, who also feature Souris native Nathan Greig and Brandon’s Bryce Colquhoun and are coached by Souris Sabres high school bench boss Brian Yon, finished the round-robin event in fourth place with a 1-3 record.
