The Westman Wolverines ran their way into the win column in the Manitoba Major Football League on Saturday in Winnipeg.
Shayne Sebree ran 21 times for 146 yards and a touchdown, while Jared Spearing carried 10 times for 97 yards and a score as the Wolverines improved to 1-4 with a 15-0 victory over the Greendell Falcons.
Bradley Kyle added 63 yards to the Westman ground game on 12 carries, while Chris Stantial toted the ball six times for 23 yards. Spearing racked up nearly half his yardage on a 48-yard major, while Sebree scored from five yards out. Kyle Pacheco kicked two converts and scored a rouge on a 35-yard missed field goal.
Westman quarterback Seth Hume completed 3-of-12 passes for 62 yards and an interception, hitting Danton Nagorski for a 45-yard completion and adding a 15-yard pass to Grant McDill. Nagorski added 127 yards on five punt returns.
Defensively, Tain Heywood had a tackle and two interceptions for the Wolverines, while Robin Brister added a tackle and a pick. Adam MacLelland led Westman with 5 1/2 tackles, while Brendynn Tuttosi and Ethan Jowett had 4 1/2 each. Jason Sinclair totalled four tackles.
The Wolverines are in action again this Saturday, visiting the Interlake Thunder.
