A goal and three assists by Kyle Threndyle led the Waywayseecappo Wolverines to an 8-1 rout of the Neepawa Natives on Tuesday night in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
In Tuesday’s other MJHL game, the Dauphin Kings beat the Winkler Flyers 3-2 in overtime.
At Waywayseecappo, Pilot Mound’s Brett Pinkerton dished out four assists for the Wolverines (9-9-2), while Brenden Luchinski had a goal and two helpers. Cody Labrecque scored twice, with David Haaf, J.J. Cruikshank, Russell Turner and Matthew Miller rounding out the Wayway scoring. Brandonite Brayden Cuthbert scored for the Natives (5-13-2).
Cory Simons made 21 saves for the Wolverines. Corey Koop stopped 20 of 24 shots for the Natives before being replaced by Jeff Stallard, who stopped 11 of 15 shots.
Kings 3 Flyers 2 (OT)
At Dauphin, Jesse Sinatynski scored the winning goal on a power play, 1:59 into overtime.
Dayton Reinboldt scored both Dauphin goals in regulation, with Tanner Butler of Souris picking up two assists for the Kings (13-5-0). Jeremy Pominville made 28 saves to earn the win. Brandonite Tanner Jago and Jordan Neduzak replied for the Flyers (5-10-6), who got 29 saves from Tyler Oswald.
