Glenboro’s Josh Wytinck continued to climb the leaderboard at the provincial men’s amateur golf championship at the Niakwa Country Club on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old posted a 69, his best round of the 72-hole event, and moved into a tie for fourth place with Winnipeg’s Charlie Boyechko at 214 heading into today’s final round.
Todd Fanning, whose home course is the Niakwa club, carded his third straight sub-70 round and leads the pack at 204. Garth Collings posted a 76 and is second at 210, while Aaron Cockerill is third at 213.
Meanwhile, Dauphin’s Trevor Fox shot a 73 on Wednesday and sits in a tie for 14th place at 221, while Brandon’s Travis Fifi carded a 74 and is tied for 20th at 225.
