After leading the Killarney Raiders to back-to-back provincial medals, Ciara Zarn has picked up Tri-Star rural high school athlete of the week honours.

One week after the 5-foot-7 setter/libero was named most valuable player for leading the Raiders junior varsity girls’ volleyball team to the A/AA provincial title, Zarn helped Killarney’s varsity girls win a silver medal at the provincial AA championship in Steinbach on Saturday night. During provincials, Zarn was named player of the game in Killarney’s match against Niverville.

The Grade 10 student, who sports a 90 per cent academic average, also plays fastball at Killarney Collegiate.

"Ciara is the hardest working athlete you could ever find," coach Dean Kachur stated in a news release.
