Mariners beat Brisbane 1-0 in Australia's A-League to prevent Wanderers from clinching 1st

SYDNEY - The Central Coast Mariners have beaten the Brisbane Roar 1-0 Sunday on Bernie Ibini-Isei's 35th minute goal to prevent the first-year Western Sydney Wanderers from clinching first place in Australia's A-League.

The Mariners, however, still trail the Wanderers by five points with just two rounds to play.

Western Sydney's Labinot Haliti scored once in each half Saturday as the league newcomers stretched their record winning streak to a 10 matches with a 3-1 win over the Melbourne Heart. Sydney FC and the Melbourne Victory played to a 1-1 draw.

An 85th-minute goal from Sydney substitute Yairo Yau from Alessandro Del Piero's corner cancelled Mark Milligan's third-minute goal and kept the former Juventus star's team in the playoff picture.
