Sporting Lisbon capitalizes on defensive errors to win 2-1 versus Setubal in Portuguese league

LISBON, Portugal - Sporting Lisbon took full advantage of Setubal's defensive errors to claim a 2-1 home victory in the Portuguese league on Saturday.

Sporting went ahead in the 16th minute when Setubal defender Euripedes Amoreirinha scored an own goal after Cedric Alves had crossed the ball into the area.

Sporting's Zakarai Labyad added a second goal from the penalty spot in the 21st following Ney Santos's foul on Eric Dier.

Setubal striker Ariza Makukula pulled one back with a header in the 33rd.

Sporting is in 10th place after winning just six of 23 games so far this season.

Also Saturday, Pacos Ferreira won 2-1 at Olhanense to move within one point of third-place Braga.
