The Brandon Wheat Kings will ramp up for the 2012-13 Western Hockey League regular season with games against the Moose Jaw Warriors and Regina Pats.
The Wheat Kings will open the pre-season with a home-and-home series against the Pats, Thursday, Sept. 6 in Regina and Friday, Sept. 7 at Westman Place.
They’ll conclude their exhibition schedule by hosting the Warriors on Friday, Sept. 14 and visiting them on Saturday, Sept. 15.
The regular season will begin the following week, with the schedule to be announced on Wednesday, June 27.
In other WHL news, the Warriors announced on Thursday that director of hockey operations Alan Millar has been promoted to general manager and signed to a multi-year contract extension. The club did not have a GM last season.
Director of business operations Corey Nyhagen has also been given a multi-year extension.
