Sun-Rype earns Q3 profit of $361,000 compared with loss a year ago

KELOWNA, B.C. - Sun-Rype Products Ltd. (TSX:SRF) said Tuesday it earned a profit of $361,000 in its latest quarter compared with a loss a year ago.

The fruit snack and drink maker said the profit amounted to three cents per share for the quarter ended Sept. 26 compared with a loss of $836,000 or seven cents per share a year ago. Net sales totalled $36.1 million, down from $37.5 million.

Shares in Sun-Rype,which announced its results after the close of markets, were down 24 cents at $9.40 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
