The 11th annual Lieutenant Governor’s Winter Festival was held Thursday, Jan. 30 through Saturday, Feb. 1 in the Wheat City.

There were nine pavilions to choose from, all featuring entertainment, food, drink, visual decor, and much more from the represented countries.

The trip around the globe featured Brazil, Colombia, England, Germany, Honduras, Ireland, Scotland, and the Ukraine. In the Global Village pavilion, the cultures of Iceland, Latin American countries, Egypt, and Kenya were also represented.

I attended four out of the nine pavilions and was amazed with the amount of work and dedication the volunteers

And organizers told the Sun the three-day event generates roughly $1 million in economic activity and tourism to Brandon.
