On June 4, 155 people attended the 11th annual Tribute to Tourism Awards Gala.

This year’s event was held at the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum. Michelle Frechette, regional tourism co-ordinator, said the reason was "to showcase one of the wonderful star attractions in the region, as well as provide a fun backdrop for the evening."

This delightful event is put on by Tourism Westman and is held to honour exceptional businesses, organizations and individuals across southwestern Manitoba that are involved in the tourism industry.

Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Marc George, director of the RCA Museum at CFB Shilo. Special guests included Mayor Shari Decter Hirst and Lillian Tankard, senior manager of partnerships at Travel Manitoba and deputy minister of Tourism, Culture Heritage, Sport and Consumer Protection.

A delicious meal was prepared by Canad Inns Destination Centres.
