DENIM & ROYAL BLUE
Not just for jeans, denim is splashed throughout the pages of favorite design magazines everywhere! Wall coverings, pillows, lamp shades — the rich and moody hue can really set the tone in a space needing some grounding and grown-up touches.
LEMONADE
Light and airy shades of pale lemon and butter cream are making their way back into home décor schemes, but this time they're being paired with deeper shades of gray, shale, charcoal, and acorn brown. I think every space needs a spot of contrast between light and dark, and this soothing and refreshing tone does just that when mixed with richer tones.
BEACHGLASS
A favourite of mine, a light and coastal approach to opening up and expanding your spaces is easy when you stick to watery shades of warm mint, teal, and silvery sage. Beach glass green looks divine when paired with pale lemon, cream, crisp white, indigo, sand, and brown.

Yes, you read that right — pale shades of salmon are all over the colour map for 2013. Little girls’ bedroom linens or small decorative accessories might just be the perfect touch your space needs rather than an all-over paint makeover. You can definitely expect to see this shade more in the fashion world this year — a perfect example of how some hues don't always work in the crossover from runway to home.
Colour trends are tricky: they're hot for a season, but sometimes fizzle by the time December rolls around. Unless a true favourite of yours, sticking to small accents and accessories that can easily and inexpensively be changed out once the trend has run its course is always best.
