The Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation is pleased to announce that proceeds from the 2013 Gala dinner and dance fundraiser have been used to purchase two vital pieces of equipment that will support the healthcare needs of patients served by the Brandon Regional Health Centre.
A presentation of $57,781 was recently made by Gala Committee co-chairs Brenda Burgess and Marci Crisanti, with proceeds used to purchase an ECG (Electrocardiography) unit for diagnostic imaging in the cardiology department and a transport ventilator for diagnostic imaging in the respiratory department.
The state of the art ECG unit will allow ECG tracings to be sent electronically to a workstation for reporting as well as to Electronic Health Records.
The transport ventilator, with its smaller size and new technology, will be used for transporting patients by ambulance, including infants, who otherwise would require air transportation.
The Gala dinner began in 1991 and has been one of the foundation’s major fundraisers, raising $572,000 since its inception.
Joining co-chairs Marci Crisanti and Brenda Burgess on the 2013 Gala Committee members were Jodi Fawcett, Kerri Lynn Gudz, Kelly Lumbard, Sally Mott, Cheryl Nelson, Jill Stewart, Peggy Turnbull, Barb Webber and Terry Leech-Atkinson.
Planning has begun for the 2014 gala dinner to be held on Sept. 27 at the Victoria Inn.
