The Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation would like to thank the Riverview Curling Club for their recent donation in support of the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre. Their generous contribution of $3,811 was from the club’s "Sweeping Cancer From Our House" fundraising campaign, and will be used to help BRHC cancer patients pay some of the non-funded extra costs that come with an extended time in treatment battling their disease.
The season-long campaign was launched in the fall of 2013 when the club unveiled ice painted with blue (for men’s cancers) and pink (for women’s cancers) rings. A pair of bonspiels, sales of T-shirts and themed magnets and related activities generated the proceeds, which were presented to the BRHC Foundation with the announcement that the initiative will continue next season.
