Rob Fowler’s foursome from Brandon made it to Monday’s semifinals before being eliminated in the 2011 Whites Drug Store Classic at the Swan River Curling Club.

Fowler, with rinkmates Allan Lyburn, Richard Daneault and Derek Samagalski, fell 7-2 to Saskatoon’s Colton Flasch in the Manitoba Curling Tour event, while eventual champion Reid Carruthers of Winnipeg beat Darrell McKee of Saskatoon in the other semifinal. Carruthers went on to double up Flasch 6-3 in Monday night’s final.

Fowler earned $5,500 for making the semifinals, while Carruthers pocketed the first-place prize of $10,000.
