Progressive Conservative Leader Brian Pallister is promising to reduce ambulance fees in the province by half in his first year, if elected. Standing near the Brandon No. 1 Fire Hall, Pallister said Manitobans are paying too much in ambulance fees. “Seniors and other patients needing care should expect a paramedic at their door, not a $500 bill in the mail,” said Pallister, who was introduced by Brandon East candidate Len Isleifson. “That’s just wrong.”
Linden McCorrister, Stelio Mattheos and John Quenneville each had two goals as the Brandon Wheat Kings beat the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors 6-2 at Westman Place on Friday. The game had no bearing in the standings for the Wheat Kings (47-18-4-2), who have already clinched the Western Hockey League’s East Division and Eastern Conference titles. But it did give Brandon 100 points on the season, the third time it has managed the feat in successive years in franchise history.
