The Dauphin Clippers’ dominant run in girls rugby came to a shocking end at John Reilly Field on Saturday.

The defending provincial champion Clippers fell 31-22 to the Steinbach Sabres in the provincial final.

Jorja Percival, Paityn Bourgoin, Desiree Lariviere and Edie Fleck scored tries for the Clippers, who were undefeated until the title match.

Elenoa Kaukirewa posted two tries and three converts for Steinbach.

In the bronze-medal match, Kacey McKim scored four tries to lead the Souris Sabres to an 88-0 win over the Springfield Sabres.

Emery Kozak had two tries and four converts.

In the boys’ final, St. Paul’s beat Dauphin 26-19.

Christophe Cote, Calum Brownlee, Gabriel Kass and Haedyn Fair scored tries for St. Paul’s, with Connor Nolet kicking three converts.

Julien Lopez, Josh Yakielashek and Emil Saifulin touched the ball down for Dauphin, with Jordan Evans booting two converts.

Souris defeated St. John’s-Ravenscourt 30-27 in the bronze-medal game, with Jordyn Inskster, Graham Cha, Kalon Malowski, Emerson Klassen, Grayson Bennett and Cole Vandenberghe scoring tries for the Sabres.
