Workers at the Brandon Maple Leaf plant campaigned to raise relief funds for the Red Cross, after devastating floods struck El Salvador last year during the hurricane season. Rene Dominguez, a production supervisor, and Victoria Recinos, a stores person, spearheaded the campaign.

Maple Leaf Foods Brandon matched the first $5,000 donated by the employees at the plant as well as Maple Leaf Foods corporate headquarters donated an additional $5,000 to the Ontario Red Cross to help with the relief effort.
