A $2.5 million expansion at the Saputo Foods plant in Brandon's east end has helped juice city construction numbers through the first two months of the year.
February saw a total of $5.56 million worth of building permits issued for the city of Brandon, which is up substantially from the $3.8 million worth that was issued the same month a year ago.
All told, Brandon has issued $17.74 million worth of construction permits so far in 2014, which is up from $12.85 million worth in the first two months of 2013.
