Two people face weapons charges after police found several guns inside a home in Brandon on Friday.
Officers with the Criminal Investigation unit, supported by the Tactical Response Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of 14th Street early Friday evening.
Inside the home, officers located several firearms, including two sawed-off shotguns and a loaded assault-style rifle.
One of the shotguns was deemed to be stolen.
As a result a 21-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and is charged with possessing a weapon obtained by crim, unauhtorized possession of a prohibited weapon and several other firearm offences.
Police also picked up a 31-year-old Brandon man in relation to the warrant near the residence.
He was found with a backpack with two hatchets inside. The man faces similar charges.
It is believed that forensic examination will link the seized firearms to a recent shooting incident in Brandon’s East End.
