WINNIPEG - A traffic stop on Monday grew into a $450,000 drug bust and led to several arrests in Winnipeg.
The arrests began after police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Logan Avenue and Keewatin Street and discovered a quantity of marijuana in the vehicle. That stop led to the arrest of a 25-year-old male and a continuing investigation involving members of the police drug unit.
A search warrant was executed at a residence on Pritchard Avenue where 375 marijuana plants and 18 bags of marijuana with a combined street value of $441,600 were seized along with approximately $11,000 in grow-op equipment.
A man and a woman, both 56 years old, are facing marijuana production, trafficking and possession offences and have been released on a promise to appear.
