Just 124 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in Manitoba on Monday, the lowest daily total since April 19 when 109 cases were announced.
The majority of the new cases are in Winnipeg with 80. Prairie Mountain Health had just seven new cases announced.
Two deaths linked to the virus were also announced on Monday — a woman in her 50s from the Winnipeg health region and a man in his 80s from Southern Health-Santé Sud health region. The woman's death is linked to the B.1.1.7 variant of concern.
Manitoba's five-day test positivity rate is 10.7 per cent and Winnipeg's is 10.2.
Sixty patients are in Manitoba intensive care units because of COVID-19, with a further 26 ICU patients being cared for in Ontario and Alberta. Another 26 patients have been returned from outside the province to Manitoba after their conditions improved.
