The Manitoba government reported 85 new cases of COVID-19 as of 9:30 a.m. Saturday, including four new cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region.
There are now 26 active cases in the region, 12 of which are in Brandon. Two people remain in hospital in Prairie Mountain Health, both of whom are in intensive care.
Of Saturday’s 85 new cases, four were identified in the Interlake-Eastern region, four in the Northern region, five in the Southern Health-Santé Sud region and 68 in the Winnipeg region.
Manitoba currently has 1,648 active cases of COVID-19 according to the government’s online COVID-19 dashboard. There are 28 people in hospital and five in intensive care. A total of 3,258 confirmed cases and 38 COVID-19-related deaths have been recorded in Manitoba to date.
The government performed 2,683 tests Friday and the province’s current five-day test positivity rate is 4.9 per cent. The total number of lab tests completed since early February is 222,735.
A new drive-thru test site at Brandon’s Keystone Centre is now open. The site operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and weekends and from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
