Hospitalizations from COVID-19 continue to mount for the province as it reported 19 more people needing care on Tuesday.
The province’s COVID-19 dashboard listed 620 people now in hospital, with 588 being treated for active COVID infections. Intensive care admissions jumped by one, with 48 now listed and all but two receiving care for active COVID infections.
There are 413 people in hospital (27 ICU cases) in Winnipeg, 68 people in hospital (five ICU cases) in Prairie Mountain Health, 55 people in hospital (nine ICU cases) in Southern Health, 47 people in hospital (six ICU cases) in Interlake-Eastern, and 37 people in hospital (one ICU case) in Northern Health.
The province also recorded three new deaths, pushing the total number of COVID deaths in Manitoba to 1,466. The ages, gender and locations of the latest deaths were not immediately released.
The dashboard listed 847 new cases Tuesday, bringing the active case count to 40,805. The case counts released only include PCR test results, which are limited in the province and don’t include rapid antigen test results.
The five-day test positivity rate is 34.2 per cent.
In terms of vaccines, 85.1 per cent of eligible Manitobans have received at least one dose, while 78.3 per cent have received two doses, and 35.8 per cent have received a third dose.
More than 2.6 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in Manitoba.
