Two deaths and 223 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Friday.
Both deaths were women from Winnipeg, one in her 80s and the other in her 90s. The second death is linked to the B.1.1.7 alpha variant of the virus.
Of the new cases announced Friday, 14 were from Prairie Mountain Health and 126 were from Winnipeg.
The current five-day test positivity rate is 10.6 per cent for the whole province and 11 per cent in Winnipeg.
A total of 93 Manitobans are receiving care in intensive care units due to COVID-19, including 30 patients who are being treated in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
One new COVID-19 outbreak was declared on Friday at the surgery unit at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.
Second dose vaccine eligibility was updated on Friday so that any having received their first dose of vaccine on or before May 6 can now book their second dose appointments.
