A slick of hydraulic oil that gushed from a semi-trailer’s broken hose needed to be soaked up with sand Sunday evening.

The spill was reported just before 7 p.m., and stretched along Victoria Avenue from 18th Street to 26th Street.

It left the street quite slippery, police said, and sand had to be spread along the road to soak up the spill. The sand was to be cleaned up sometime Monday.
