Samaritan House shelter, trailer closing briefly

Samaritan House Ministries will temporarily close its shelter and warming trailer later this week.

The organization posted the notice on its Facebook page, stating its Safe and Warm shelter and The Q warming trailer will both be closed at 11 a.m. Thursday and reopen Friday at 7 p.m.

The reason for the closure is to allow for a deep clean, sanitation and bed bug treatment of the facilities.

Mental health course at Swan Lake

A mental health first aid course for First Nations is being offered by the Anish Corporation and the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

Winter Fest this weekend

Sioux Valley Dakota Nation’s Winter Fest is happening at the Keystone Centre in Brandon from Thursday to Sunday.

Admission is $20 per day, while children six years of age and under and adults over 60 get in for free.

Events include minor hockey, adult hockey, volleyball, moccasin games, talent show, trade show, basketball, pool tournament, bingo, square dancing, a teen dance and more.
