Officers found out that two men who knew each other got into a physical altercation that resulted in one of them leaving the residence, BPS said in a news release.
Police said the man returned to the residence a short time later, opened the door and slashed the victim with a knife.
The victim was left with cuts to his face and forearms, which were “not significant in nature” and required minor treatment, BPS said.
Officers arrested a 19-year-old man and charged him with assault with a weapon.
He was later released on an undertaking.
Crash causes serious injuries
A man was transported to the hospital with “significant injuries” after a single-vehicle collision early Sunday morning, police say.
The Brandon Police Service received a call at around 1:30 a.m. regarding a single-vehicle collision in the 700 block of First Street North.
The vehicle was travelling south when it left the road and caused a collision that resulted in extensive damage to the vehicle, BPS said in a news release.
The 23-year-old man who was driving the vehicle sustained significant injuries and was transported to the Brandon Regional Health Centre for treatment, police said.
The collision remains under investigation.
False use of fire alarm
A woman was arrested on Sunday after she allegedly pulled a fire alarm when there was no fire emergency.
Brandon Police Service Cadets advised police that a woman had pulled a fire alarm at an address in the 200 block of Eighth Street at around 4:30 p.m.
When police arrived, they found that there was no fire emergency and arrested the 31-year-old woman, BPS said in a news release.
She was charged with false use of a fire alarm and was later released on an undertaking with a court date scheduled in February 2026.
