A woman arrested after allegedly shoplifting from a Brandon store is facing further charges after police found a stolen cheque on her.
Officers were called to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue on Sunday afternoon after the woman was reported to have stolen several small items.
A search of the suspect also recovered a stolen cheque, and the woman was also found to have an outstanding warrant out for her arrest for assault.
The 31-year-old woman was arrested for theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and the arrest warrant for assault. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court on Monday.
