A Brandon University student collapsed during an exam Thursday and has been taken to hospital.
The exam was taking place at BU’s Healthy Living Centre.
A representative from the university told the Sun that paramedics arrived on scene quickly. A staff member provided first aid while waiting for paramedics.
Additionally, a representative of Brandon Fire and Emergency services confirmed that they attended to a medical emergency at the university around lunchtime.
This student’s name and status is currently unknown. Their listed emergency contact has been notified of the situation.
BU is reaching out to students from the class to offer counselling services. Anyone needing help after this event is encouraged to contact BU counselling.
The Sun has reached out to Prairie Mountain Health for information on the situation. Further updates will be posted when more information is known.
