An Oakview man was killed early Sunday evening after his snowmobile drove over the edge of a ravine bank and dropped approximately 20 metres to the frozen river below.
The 29-year-old man was snowmobiling in a trail system approximately 15 kilometres southeast of Rivers on the Little Saskatchewan River when the accident occured.
Carberry RCMP and Rivers Police Service attended and pronounced the man deceased on scene.
The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. It is unknown if alcohol or speed played a factor. Rivers police continue to investigate.
