Prairie Mountain Health will be lowered from Level Orange (restricted) to Level Yellow (caution) starting Friday, the Manitoba government announced Thursday.
The change is in response to an improved situation in the area, Chief Provincial Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin said during a press conference Thursday.
The region really stepped up to get the situation under control, Roussin said.
One new case was reported for the region as of 9:30 a.m Thursday, bringing the total number of active cases in the region to 38 with a five-day test positivity rate of 0.4 per cent.
Masks will no longer be required in public indoor spaces in the region. Gatherings will now be limited to 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors.
The region has been designated as Level Orange since a public health order was issued on Aug. 20. The order went into effect on Aug. 24.
